As we all continue to learn and adapt to life with COVID-19, we stand by our commitment to provide quality dental care in a comfortable environment while maintaining the health and safety of our patients, our staff, and our community in these challenging times. To that end, we have implemented a number of policies and procedures in keeping with current recommendations from Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Dental Association and College, and we will continue to monitor all updates as the COVID-19 pandemic situation evolves.

Here are some of the protocols to know when you book your next appointment:

1. Our office will reach out to you beforehand to ask some screening questions. If you have a fever or flu-like illness, we will rebook your appointment.
2. In accordance with the Alberta Dental Association and College’s safety guidelines, as well as Alberta Health Services, masks are no longer mandatory, and we offer a mask-friendly environment to anyone who chooses to continue wearing a mask.
3. Our waiting room no longer offers shared magazines or toys, as they are difficult to completely disinfect.

Here are some of the additional protocols we have implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

1. We have installed a plexiglass barrier at the reception desk.
2. We are adhering to the recommendations for enhanced Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gowns/lab coats, caps, masks and/or face shields for any spray-generating procedures.
3. All staff members are subject to the same COVID-19 screening as patients and required to stay home if they are at risk or unwell.
4. Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of all shared contact surfaces (door handles, light switches, etc.).
